Dr. Stella George leverages her more than 25 years in the global health insurance industry to oversee the design, development and implementation of global clinical and well-being programs. With direct oversight across all clinical functions across International Health, Stella is an experienced People and Strategic leader, responsible for the clinical path to improve health outcomes for customers, whilst managing the cost of adequate and quality medical care. Before her corporate endeavors, Stella practiced medicine in India as a trained Leprologist and was involved in the National Leprosy Eradication program efforts in Greater Mumbai. Prior to joining Cigna in late 2020, Stella held various roles at Aetna, now part of CVS Health, most recently serving as Head of Health Services, Aetna One Advocate, and Head of Care Management Americas for Aetna International – both roles building her expertise in leading operational responsibilities for precertification, utilization management, quality and the extended clinical services teams, as well providing oversight for end-to-end care management activities. She also led many client site visits, meetings and presentations. Stella currently resides in Connecticut, where she teaches meditation and yoga-based techniques for stress management in the community and in local correctional facilities. She also volunteers with the Art of Living Foundation and the International Association of Human Values. Stella holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland; a Diploma in Public Health (DPH) from the University of Bombay, India; and a Bachelor’s in Medicine & Surgery (MBBS), from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai, India.
