Giovanni Pio has over 20 years of experience working in the UN and the finance and strategy consulting industry. Mr. Pio is the Deputy Director of Innovation at the World Food Programme (WFP), the largest humanitarian agency saving and changing lives worldwide, as well as Head of the UN Advisory Alliance, which supports UN agencies to envision their future and transform strategy into action. In his role at WFP, he leads efforts to promote innovation, efficiency and change by identifying and developing end-to-end solutions for large organizational challenges across WFP and the UN system. He also serves as a trusted advisor for key change initiatives and reforms. His team has successfully implemented 100 projects across several UN entities. Previously, Mr. Pio was an Associate Partner at the strategy consulting firm Bain & Company, where he served various financial service institutions and private equity funds throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He advised CEOs and CFOs in local and global institutions on growth strategies, performance improvement and post-merger integration. Prior to working at Bain, Mr. Pio was a Financial Planning Manager at Citigroup Bank EMEA in London with a focus on emerging markets. Mr Pio holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi specialized in Finance and Strategy. He also earned a degree in Business Administration from the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
