Catty Bennet Sattler is a global HR Executive and the CHRO and Director of Human Resources at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, where she leads the global people function. With a wealth of experience spanning five continents, Catty has navigated both private and public sectors in various capacities such as talent management, people strategy, diversity, equity and inclusion and leadership development. Her journey includes significant roles, notably serving as the Deputy Director of Human Resources at the International Committee of the Red Cross, Chief of Talent Development at UNDP, Talent Program Director at Siemens AG, and Executive Officer to the UNICEF Deputy Executive Director. Catty’s multifaceted career extends beyond traditional HR functions, encompassing expertise in humanitarian law, involvement in war crimes tribunals, and contributions to peacekeeping efforts. A lawyer by training, Catty holds a Master’s in International Law from Lund University and Maastricht University, along with a postgraduate degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Complementing her legal background, she has honed her leadership skills through certifications from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and IMD Business School, and Cornell University.
