Area of work: The WCO focuses on enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of customs administrations worldwide, promoting secure and efficient international trade through the development of international standards, instruments, and tools.

Established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council and renamed in 1994, the World Customs Organization (WCO) is an independent intergovernmental body representing 186 customs administrations that collectively process approximately 98% of world trade. The WCO provides leadership, guidance, and support to customs administrations to secure and facilitate legitimate trade, ensure fair revenue collection, and protect society.
