Established in 1978, the Latin American Reserve Fund (FLAR – Fondo Latinoamericano de Reservas) is a regional financial organization that aims to support the balance of payments of its member countries through credit and financial cooperation. It also contributes to the harmonization of monetary and exchange rate policies and promotes the stability and integration of Latin American economies. FLAR provides short- and medium-term financing to member central banks and manages international reserves.
