Established in 1949, UNRWA provides education, healthcare, relief, and social services to approximately 5.9 million registered Palestinian refugees across five fields of operation: Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank. The agency’s mandate has been renewed by the UN General Assembly until 30 June 2026 .
