Alison CAVE is the Manager of the World Bank Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Office. An urban planner by training, she joined the Bank in 1994 and has worked in the Middle East/North Africa, Europe/Central Asia and Africa Regions mainly on issues of infrastructure, fiscal and administrative decentralization, urban environment, land administration and cultural heritage. As an Urban staff member, Alison engaged the Sector Board on discussions of diversity and inclusion – particularly career development for women and Sub-Saharan African/Caribbean staff. Alison also served as Staff Association Chair during which time she worked on institutional issues relating to human resources (among them, Diversity and Inclusion), institutional governance and internal justice. Prior to joining the Bank Group, Alison worked for USAID in Egypt, on a decentralization program, for AMIDEAST, doing educational development work, and has consulted with the Harvard School of Public Health.
